Birthplace of Rock 'n' Roll

The largest city on the Mississippi River, Memphis bills itself as both the "Birthplace of Rock" and "Home of the Blues." With such a rich musical heritage, it shouldn't come as a surprise that Elvis Presley chose to live in Memphis during his later years.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Stax Museum of American Soul Music and Southland Casino Racing. Popular historic sites such as Slave Haven / Burkle Estate Museum and Rowan Oak are in your itinerary. Get out of town with these interesting Memphis side-trips: Oxford (Southside Gallery & Bailey's Woods Trail) and Natchez Trace Pkwy (in Tupelo). There's still lots to do: have fun and explore at The Children's Museum of Memphis, take in the spiritual surroundings of St. Peter Catholic Church, and see the interesting displays at Metal Museum.

Plan my trip to Memphis with suggested itineraries provided by Inspirock.

In March in Memphis, expect temperatures between 63°F during the day and 43°F at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 15th (Sun) early enough to travel back home.
