Nauvoo is a small city in Hancock County, Illinois, United States, on the Mississippi River near Fort Madison, Iowa. Popular historic sites such as Historic Nauvoo and Nauvoo Temple are in your itinerary. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Nauvoo: Wildlife Prairie State Park (in Hanna City), Burlington (FunCity, Mosquito Park, & more) and Battle of Athens State Historic Site (in Revere). And it doesn't end there: steep yourself in history at Lincolns New Salem State Park, make a trip to Brigham Young Home, enjoy breathtaking views from Bridge Observation Deck, and admire the majestic nature at Thousand Hills State Park.
