Albuquerque remains one of the state's secret jewels, as its tourist attractions are often overshadowed by the more popular holiday destination of Santa Fe.
On the 18th (Wed), take an in-depth tour of Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, don't miss a visit to New Mexico Steam Locomotive and Railroad Historical Society, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at San Felipe de Neri Church, and finally get to know the fascinating history of Albuquerque Old Town.

To see where to stay, reviews, and tourist information, go to the Albuquerque trip site .

The Route module shows you all the different ways you can get to Albuquerque. In September, daily temperatures in Albuquerque can reach 83°F, while at night they dip to 60°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 18th (Wed) early enough to travel to Santa Fe.

Santa Fe continuously ranks among the world's top holiday destinations, attracting visitors with its unusual combination of scenic beauty, rich history, cultural diversity, and high concentration of performing arts venues, fine restaurants, and interesting attractions.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Santa Fe: Taos (Taos Pueblo & Rio Grande Gorge Bridge) and Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument (in Cochiti Pueblo). There's much more to do: steep yourself in history at Loretto Chapel, examine the collection at Museum of International Folk Art, explore the world behind art at Georgia O'Keeffe Museum, and appreciate the extensive heritage of Canyon Road.

To find photos, other places to visit, traveler tips, and tourist information, use the Santa Fe day trip tool .

Take a bus from Albuquerque to Santa Fe in an hour. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a train. Traveling from Albuquerque in September, Santa Fe is slightly colder at night with lows of 52°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 21st (Sat) to allow enough time to travel back home.
