Known for its Creole cuisine, rich musical tradition, and nearby swamps and plantations, New Orleans is one of the nation's oldest cities.
Kick off your visit on the 17th (Thu): explore the different monuments and memorials at Lafayette Cemetery No.1 and then appreciate the extensive heritage of Garden District. Here are some ideas for day two: see the interesting displays at Cabildo, admire the striking features of St. Louis Cathedral, stop by Faulkner House Books, get to know the fascinating history of French Quarter, then don't miss a visit to Arcadian Books, and finally appreciate the extensive heritage of Jackson Square.
