The Big Easy

Known for its Creole cuisine, rich musical tradition, and nearby swamps and plantations, New Orleans is one of the nation's oldest cities.
Do some cultural sightseeing at Jamie Hayes Gallery and Lake Lawn Metairie. Let the collections at New Orleans Pharmacy Museum and Southdown Plantation & Museum capture your imagination. Get out of town with these interesting New Orleans side-trips: Biloxi Beach (in Biloxi) and Houma (Regional Military Museum & Pedestrian Bridge). There's lots more to do: pause for some serene contemplation at Immaculate Conception Church, appreciate the extensive heritage of Garden District, get a taste of the local shopping with Royal Street, and contemplate the long history of Beauregard-Keyes House.

In July, daytime highs in New Orleans are 80°F, while nighttime lows are 80°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 24th (Wed) to allow enough time to travel back home.
