National History, Local Flavor

Located just across the Potomac River from Washington, D.C., the county of Arlington blends big city and sprawling suburban environments.
Get out of town with these interesting Arlington side-trips: National Museum of the Marine Corps (in Triangle), The Rising Sun Tavern (in Fredericksburg) and George Washington's Mount Vernon (in Mount Vernon). There's much more to do: explore the different monuments and memorials at Arlington National Cemetery, examine the collection at Carlyle House, steep yourself in history at Old Town, and walk around Great Falls Park.

New York City to Arlington is an approximately 3-hour flight. You can also do a combination of train and subway; or drive. In November, daytime highs in Arlington are 59°F, while nighttime lows are 42°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 13th (Sat) so you can catch the flight back home.
