Steeped in cultural and historical heritage, Philadelphia is known as the birthplace of U.S.
Kick off your visit on the 17th (Wed): try to win big at Harrah's Philadelphia, witness the site of a historic battle at Valley Forge National Historical Park, and then take in the spiritual surroundings of Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul. Keep things going the next day: get engrossed in the history at Independence Hall, take in nature's colorful creations at Longwood Gardens, and then make a trip to Rittenhouse Square.

Located near the memorial park marking the site of one of the largest Civil War battles, the town of Gettysburg sits in a landscape of rolling green hills with views of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the distance.
Start off your visit on the 19th (Fri): appreciate the extensive heritage of Shriver House Museum, contemplate the long history of Eisenhower National Historic Site, take in the history at Gettysburg National Military Park, then contemplate the long history of Dobbin House Tavern, and finally do a tasting at Knob Hall Winery. On your second day here, witness the site of a historic battle at Confederate Trails of Gettysburg, then learn about winemaking at Adams County Winery, and then contemplate the long history of Little Round Top.

You can drive from Philadelphia to Gettysburg in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of train, flight, and taxi; or do a combination of train and bus. In April, plan for daily highs up to 64°F, and evening lows to 44°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 20th (Sat) to allow enough time to drive back home.
