The heart of Pennsylvania's famous "Dutch Country," Lancaster is one of the nation's oldest inland cities, founded in 1730.
Kick off your visit on the 12th (Fri): pick up some local products at Kauffman's Fruit Farm & Market and then look for gifts at Riehl's Quilts and Crafts.

Rochester to Lancaster is an approximately 4-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train; or drive. When traveling from Rochester in April, plan for a bit warmer days and about the same nights in Lancaster: temperatures range from 62°F by day to 41°F at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 13th (Sat) to allow enough time to drive to Gettysburg.

Located near the memorial park marking the site of one of the largest Civil War battles, the town of Gettysburg sits in a landscape of rolling green hills with views of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the distance.
Start off your visit on the 14th (Sun): see the interesting displays at Rupp House, then explore the different monuments and memorials at Evergreen Cemetery, then identify plant and animal life at East Coast Exotic Animal Rescue, and finally see the interesting displays at Mister Ed's Elephant Museum.

Drive from Lancaster to Gettysburg in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of train and bus. Expect a daytime high around 64°F in April, and nighttime lows around 44°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 14th (Sun) so you can travel to Pittsburgh.
