Gateway to the Black Hills

South Dakota's second-largest city, Rapid City has for many years served as a gateway to the West.
Chapel in the Hills has been added to your itinerary. Venture out of the city with trips to Custer (Custer State Park & Sylvan Lake), Deadwood (Adams Museum & Mount Moriah Cemetery) and Mount Rushmore National Memorial (in Keystone). The adventure continues: identify plant and animal life at Bear Country USA, view the masterpieces at Prairie Edge Trading Co. & Galleries, look for gifts at Alex Johnson Mercantile, and meet the residents at Reptile Gardens.

To find traveler tips, where to stay, photos, and more tourist information, you can read our Rapid City route planner.
