Shenandoah National Park

— 3 nights
Shenandoah National Park showcases a particularly scenic section of Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains.
Brandy Station Foundation and Culpeper National Cemetery will appeal to history buffs. Take a break from the city and head to Limberlost Trail and Spring Creek Golf Club. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Shenandoah National Park: Zipline (in McGaheysville), Cedar Mountain Battlefield (in Rapidan) and Culpeper (Museum of Culpeper History & The Cameleer). There's still lots to do: take in the awesome beauty at Pinnacles, take in the dramatic scenery at Doyles River Falls, don't miss a visit to Dean Cemetery, and get outside with Shenandoah River Adventures.

To see maps, more things to do, where to stay, and more tourist information, refer to the Shenandoah National Park route planner.

In July, plan for daily highs up to 88°F, and evening lows to 68°F.
