South Haven — 1 night

Kick off your visit on the 29th (Thu): enjoy the sea views from St. Joseph Lighthouses, then enjoy the sand and surf at Silver Beach County Park, and then look for gifts at Chocolate Garden. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: kick back and relax at Oval Beach, shop like a local with Water Street Gallery, then view the masterpieces at Amazwi Contemporary Art, and finally enjoy the sea views from South Haven Lighthouses.

Indianapolis to South Haven is an approximately 3.5-hour car ride. You can also drive; or fly; or do a combination of bus and taxi. When traveling from Indianapolis in September, plan for a bit cooler days in South Haven, with highs around 74°F, while nights are about the same with lows around 55°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 30th (Fri) so you can go by car to Battle Creek.

Battle Creek — 2 nights

On the 1st (Sat), hunt for treasures at Kalamazoo Farmers Market, see the interesting displays at Air Zoo, and then shop like a local with Corey Lake Orchards. On your second day here, try your luck at Firekeeper's Casino, sample the tasty concoctions at Bell's Comstock Brewery, then examine the collection at Gilmore Car Museum, and finally have fun at Milham Park.

You can drive from South Haven to Battle Creek in 1.5 hours. In September in Battle Creek, expect temperatures between 76°F during the day and 54°F at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 2nd (Sun) early enough to drive back home.
