The Ski Capital of the East

Stowe bustles in winter when skiers and snowboarders flock here to challenge themselves on the long, steep trails careening down Vermont's tallest peak, Mt.
On the 28th (Thu), trek along Stowe Recreation Path and then take a memorable drive along Smugglers Notch State Park. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: trek along Birds of Vermont Museum and then take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Mount Mansfield State Forest.

Orlando to Stowe is an approximately 7-hour combination of flight and car. You can also drive; or take a train. Prepare for colder weather when traveling from Orlando in October: high temperatures in Stowe hover around 60°F and lows are around 39°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 29th (Fri) early enough to go by car to Manchester.

Manchester is a town in, and one of two shire towns (county seats) of, Bennington County, Vermont, United States. Kick off your visit on the 30th (Sat): go for a walk through Merck Forest & Farmland Center and then take in nature's colorful creations at Hildene, The Lincoln Family Home.

You can drive from Stowe to Manchester in 3 hours. Another option is to do a combination of train and taxi. In October, daily temperatures in Manchester can reach 62°F, while at night they dip to 41°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 30th (Sat) so you can go by car to Woodstock.
