Founded in 1632 as a fortified settlement on the high ground between two rivers, Williamsburg served as a colonial capital of Virginia for over 80 years.
Kick off your visit on the 28th (Fri): take a tour of Jamestown Settlement, take in the history at American Revolution Museum at Yorktown, then explore the world behind art at Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Folk Art Museum, and finally pause for some serene contemplation at Bruton Parish Episcopal Church.

Newport News to Williamsburg is an approximately half hour bus ride. You can also drive. In June, plan for daily highs up to 87°F, and evening lows to 68°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 28th (Fri) early enough to drive to Fredericksburg.
