Yosemite National Park — 2 nights

Your day by day itinerary now includes El Capitan as well as Mariposa Grove. Kick off your visit on the 16th (Thu): stroll around Mariposa Grove and then take in the dramatic natural features at El Capitan. Here are some ideas for day two: explore the striking landscape of Bridalveil Fall, identify plant and animal life at Nature Center at Happy Isles, then get great views at Yosemite, Tunnel View, then take some stellar pictures from Valley View, and finally admire the sheer force of Yosemite Falls.
