In many ways much more Asian than American, Honolulu is Hawaii's largest city and its center of government, transportation, commerce, and tourism.
Take a break from the city and head to Shark Diving and Swim with Dolphins. Visit National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific and Iolani Palace for their historical value. Get out of town with these interesting Honolulu side-trips: Polynesian Cultural Center (in Laie) and Kailua Beach Park (in Kailua).
