Nicknamed the "Emerald City" because of its abundant evergreen trees, Seattle is the cultural and business center of the Pacific Northwest, as well as a popular holiday destination.
Shop till you drop at Pike Place Market and Chukar Cherries. Chihuly Garden and Glass and Seattle Art Museum will appeal to museum buffs. Change things up with these side-trips from Seattle: Saltwater State Park (in Des Moines), Snoqualmie Falls (in Snoqualmie) and Rattlesnake Lake Recreation Area (in North Bend). There's much more to do: admire the natural beauty at Bloedel Reserve, look for all kinds of wild species at Northwest Maritime Center, kick back and relax at Ed Munro Seahurst Park, and stroll through Nisqually Reach Nature Center.

If you are flying in from Belgium, the closest major airports are Seattle Tacoma International Airport and Boeing Field King County International Airport. In July in Seattle, expect temperatures between 30°C during the day and 18°C at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 19th (Sun) early enough to travel back home.
