Abiquiú is a small census-designated place located in Rio Arriba County, in northern New Mexico in the southwestern United States, about 53 miles (85 km) north of Santa Fe. Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Ghost Ranch and Bandelier National Monument. Venture out of the city with trips to Puye Cliff Dwellings (in Espanola), Los Alamos (Bradbury Science Museum & Dr. J. Robert Oppenheimer and General Leslie Statues) and Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument (in Cochiti Pueblo). Next up on the itinerary: take in the dramatic natural features at Plaza Blanca, do a tasting at La Chiripada Winery, witness a stunning natural landmark at Jemez Springs Bath House, and explore the world behind art at Georgia O'Keeffe: Welcome Center.

To see maps, other places to visit, reviews, and tourist information, refer to the Abiquiu road trip planner.

In July, plan for daily highs up to 81°F, and evening lows to 61°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 21st (Sun) early enough to travel back home.
