Lake George

Queen of the American Lakes

A playground for America’s wealthy families, Lake George was nicknamed "Queen of the American Lakes." While these families often stayed in private country houses, a tourism industry built up around them in the early 20th century facilitated by two YMCAs.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Square Eddy Expeditions and River Rafting & Tubing. Get outdoors at Mt. Defiance and Warren County Bikeway. Venture out of the city with trips to Star Trek Original Series Set Tour (in Ticonderoga) and Schroon Lake (Paradox Brewery & Schroon Lake Town Beach). Next up on the itinerary: have some family-friendly fun at Around the World Miniature Golf, indulge in some personalized pampering at some of the best spas, and sample the fine beverages at Lake George Distilling Company.
