Homer — 1 night

Start off your visit on the 16th (Thu): take an in-depth tour of Center for Alaskan Coastal Studies, then examine the collection at Pratt Museum, then get all the information you need at Alaska Islands and Ocean Visitor Center, and finally surround yourself with nature on a nature and wildlife tour.

Phoenix to Homer is an approximately 12.5-hour combination of flight and car. You can also drive. Due to the time zone difference, you'll gain 2 hours traveling from Phoenix to Homer. Traveling from Phoenix in February, expect Homer to be much colder, temps between 36°F and 25°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 16th (Thu) early enough to go by car to Anchorage.

Anchorage — 1 night

The City of Lights and Flowers

On the 17th (Fri), contemplate the waterfront views at Cook Inlet, then tour the pleasant surroundings at Alyeska Ski Area, then indulge your thirst for a good beer at Girdwood Brewing Company, and finally hike along Friends of Eagle River Nature.

Drive from Homer to Anchorage in 4.5 hours. Expect slightly colder temperatures when traveling from Homer in February; daily highs in Anchorage reach 28°F and lows reach 15°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 17th (Fri) so you can fly to Fairbanks.

Fairbanks — 2 nights

The Golden Heart City

Start off your visit on the 18th (Sat): look for all kinds of wild species at Creamer's Field Migratory Waterfowl Refuge, cast your line with a fishing tour, then sample the tasty concoctions at HooDoo Brewing Company, and finally see the interesting displays at Bouchard's International Dog Mushing and Sled Museum.

Fly from Anchorage to Fairbanks in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. While traveling from Anchorage, expect a bit cooler days and much colder nights in Fairbanks, ranging from highs of 11°F to lows of -9°F. On the 19th (Sun), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can fly back home.
