Astoria, named for famed fur trader John Jacob Astor, resides near the mouth of the Columbia River.
Let the collections at Columbia River Maritime Museum and Don Nisbett Art Gallery capture your imagination. Bring the kids along to Haystack Rock and Astoria Column. Venture out of the city with trips to Cannon Beach (Cannon Beach & Ecola State Park) and Seaside Candyman (in Seaside). Spend the 19th (Wed) exploring nature at Fort Clatsop National Memorial. There's much more to do: admire the majestic nature at Fort Stevens State Park, visit a coastal fixture at Lightship Columbia, see the interesting displays at Flavel House Museum, and pause for some photo ops at Maritime Memorial.

For more things to do, other places to visit, reviews, and tourist information, read our Astoria trip tool.

In June, plan for daily highs up to °F, and evening lows to °F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 21st (Fri) early enough to travel back home.
