The Capital of the South

Georgia’s largest city and capital, Atlanta is a thriving metropolis anchored by its southern roots.
Get some cultural insight at Tellus Science Museum and Cannonball House. Museum-lovers will appreciate Booth Western Art Museum and Hay House. Venture out of the city with trips to Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park (in Macon), Stone Mountain Park (in Stone Mountain) and Dahlonega (Dahlonega General Store & Wolf Mountain Vineyards & Winery). The adventure continues: admire the majestic nature at High Falls State Park, contemplate the long history of Centennial Olympic Park, identify plant and animal life at Noah's Ark Rehabilitation Center, and pick up some local products at Jaemor Farms.

To find traveler tips, where to stay, more things to do, and tourist information, read Atlanta trip website.

In June, daytime highs in Atlanta are 87°F, while nighttime lows are 70°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 2nd (Mon) so you can travel back home.
