Baton Rouge — 4 nights

Baton Rouge is the capital of the U.S. state of Louisiana and its second-largest city. Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Baton Rouge: Nottoway Plantation (in White Castle) and Saint Francisville (Rosedown Plantation State Historic Site, The Myrtles Plantation, &more). There's still lots to do: take an in-depth tour of USS Kidd, deepen your understanding at Louisiana State University, contemplate the long history of Louisiana's Old State Capitol, and get a sense of history and politics at State Capitol Welcome Center.
