Dynamo of Dixie

Once saddled with the reputation of being one of the country's dirtiest cities, Chattanooga now boasts a pedestrian-friendly downtown with a network of leafy waterfront trails and free electric shuttles.
Visit Chickamauga Battlefield and Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park for their historical value. Take a break from the city and head to Ruby Falls and Monte Sano Nature Preserve. Explore Chattanooga's surroundings by going to Walls of Jericho Alabama Trailhead (in Estillfork), Cartersville (Pine Mountain Recreation Area & Booth Western Art Museum) and Jules J. Berta Vineyards & Pizza (in Albertville). There's still lots to do: sample the fine beverages at Chattanooga Whiskey Experimental Distillery, cast your line with a fishing tour, observe the fascinating underwater world at Tennessee Aquarium, and look for gifts at Unclaimed Baggage.

In April, plan for daily highs up to 74°F, and evening lows to 50°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 5th (Fri) early enough to travel back home.
