Situated on the north bank of the Ohio River, Cincinnati distinguished itself as the only U.S. city that left a favorable impression on one of its most famous 19th-century visitors, English author Charles Dickens.
Start off your visit on the 2nd (Thu): pause for some serene contemplation at Cathedral Basilica of St. Peter in Chains, then explore the different monuments and memorials at Spring Grove Cemetery & Arboretum, and then gain some tasty knowledge on Cincy Brew Bus.

The capital of the United States, the District of Columbia contains the lion's share of the country's most treasured monuments, memorials, and public museums.
National Air and Space Museum and Washington National Cathedral are good opportunities to explore the local culture. The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and Arlington National Cemetery will appeal to history buffs. When in Washington DC, make a side trip to see Horseshoe Casino in Baltimore, approximately Baltimore away. There's still lots to do: explore the world behind art at National Gallery of Art, contemplate the long history of Georgetown University, get engrossed in the history at National Portrait Gallery, and learn more about the world around you at Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History.
