Augusta–Richmond County is a consolidated city-county on the central eastern border of the U.S. state of Georgia, and located on the Savannah River, at the head of its navigable portion. When in Augusta, make a side trip to see Hitchcock Woods in Aiken, approximately Aiken away. The adventure continues: get to know the fascinating history of Riverwalk, see the interesting displays at The Laurel and Hardy Museum of Harlem, Georgia, steep yourself in history at Sacred Heart Cultural Center, and let the kids burn off some steam at Evans Town Center Park.
