Preferred Gateway to Yellowstone

A genuine cowboy city, Cody is famous for its nightly rodeos and its proximity to the protected wilderness areas of the world's first national park, now designated as one of the country's World Heritage Sites.
Attractions like Uncle Tom's Trail and Hot Springs County Museum make great kid-friendly stops. Let the collections at Heart Mountain Interpretive Center and Historic Cody Mural and Museum capture your imagination. Get out of town with these interesting Cody side-trips: Meeteetse Museums (in Meeteetse), Thermopolis (The Star Plunge & TePee Pools and Spa) and Yellowstone National Park (Mud Volcano & Mount Washburn). And it doesn't end there: get a new perspective on nature at Draper Natural History Museum, stop by Cowtown Candy Company, explore the world behind art at Whitney Western Art Museum, and make a trip to Pahaska Tepee.

For more things to do, traveler tips, where to stay, and more tourist information, refer to the Cody online attractions planner.

In July, plan for daily highs up to 83°F, and evening lows to 58°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 1st (Sat) early enough to travel back home.
