Take a trip to Sanibel Island if you like pretty sunsets and luxurious resorts.
Start off your visit on the 5th (Mon): cast your line with a fishing tour and then enjoy the sand and surf at Captiva Beach. Here are some ideas for day two: identify plant and animal life at J.N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge and then kick back and relax at Bowman's Beach.

Cleveland to Sanibel Island is an approximately 4.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of bus, subway, and taxi. Traveling from Cleveland in April, expect Sanibel Island to be much hotter, temps between 87°F and 66°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 6th (Tue) early enough to go by car to Marathon.

Heart of the Florida Keys

A tiny city just 16 km (10 mi) long, Marathon is spread across several islands in the middle of the Florida Keys.
Kick off your visit on the 7th (Wed): look for all kinds of wild species at Dolphin Research Center, kick back and relax at Sombrero Beach, and then identify plant and animal life at The Turtle Hospital.

Traveling by car from Sanibel Island to Marathon takes 5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of taxi, bus, and flight; or do a combination of taxi, ferry, and bus. Traveling from Sanibel Island in April, you can expect nighttime temperatures to be somewhat warmer in Marathon, with lows of 75°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 7th (Wed) early enough to drive to Key West.

Key West

Located just 140 km (90 mi) from Cuba, Key West is an island only about 6.4 km (4 mi) long and 1.6 km (1 mi) wide.
Start off your visit on the 8th (Thu): tour the pleasant surroundings at Fort Zachary Taylor, steep yourself in history at Truman Little White House, and then cruise along The Overseas Highway.

You can drive from Marathon to Key West in 1.5 hours. Another option is to take a bus. In April, plan for daily highs up to 83°F, and evening lows to 74°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 8th (Thu) so you can fly to Savannah.

Savannah

Georgia's oldest city, Savannah displays its colonial history proudly on every corner.
Start off your visit on the 9th (Fri): stroll the grounds of Colonial Park Cemetery, stroll around Forsyth Park, take in the spiritual surroundings of Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, then stroll the grounds of Bonaventure Cemetery, and finally enjoy the sand and surf at Tybee Island Beach.

Fly from Key West to Savannah in 5.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of bus and train. Traveling from Key West in April, things will get slightly colder in Savannah: highs are around 77°F and lows about 57°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 9th (Fri) to allow time to fly back home.
