Located just 140 km (90 mi) from Cuba, Key West is an island only about 6.4 km (4 mi) long and 1.6 km (1 mi) wide.
You'll enjoy a bit of beach vacationing at Bahia Honda State Park and Higgs Beach. Museum-lovers will get to explore The Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum and Key West Lighthouse and Keeper's Quarters Museum. Take a break from Key West with a short trip to San Pablo Catholic Church in Marathon, about 1h 15 min away. There's lots more to do: steep yourself in history at Truman Little White House, kick back and relax at Fort Zachary Taylor, go for a walk through West Martello Tower, and explore the different monuments and memorials at Key West Cemetery.
