Hot Springs

Valley of the Vapors

Set deep in the Ouachita Mountains, the city of Hot Springs almost completely surrounds the national park of the same name.
Kids will appreciate attractions like Garvan Woodland Gardens and Spas. Change things up with these side-trips from Hot Springs: Lum and Abner Museum (in Pine Ridge), Murfreesboro (Crater of Diamonds State Park & Lake Greeson) and Little Rock (Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site, William J. Clinton Presidential Library, &more). There's much more to do: steep yourself in history at Fordyce Bathhouse, take in the exciting artwork at Artists' Workshop Gallery, gain insight at Garland County Library, and engage your brain at Mid-America Science Museum.

To find more things to do, photos, maps, and tourist information, go to the Hot Springs sightseeing planning website.

San Antonio to Hot Springs is an approximately 6-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of bus and taxi. Traveling from San Antonio in October, expect Hot Springs to be slightly colder, temps between 78°F and 55°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 21st (Wed) early enough to travel back home.
