Eureka is the principal city and county seat of Humboldt County in the Redwood Empire region of California. Change things up with these side-trips from Eureka: Humboldt Redwoods State Park (in Weott), The Immortal Tree (in Redcrest) and Patrick's Point State Park (in Trinidad). And it doesn't end there: explore and take pictures at Redwood Highway, make a trip to The Victorian Village of Ferndale, explore the landscape on two wheels at Hikshari Trail, and meet the residents at Sequoia Park Zoo.

For where to stay, photos, maps, and more tourist information, read Eureka online travel planner .

Los Angeles to Eureka is an approximately 6-hour combination of flight and bus. You can also drive; or do a combination of bus and train. When traveling from Los Angeles in August, plan for colder days in Eureka, with highs around 64°F, while nights are little chillier with lows around 54°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 14th (Wed) early enough to travel back home.
