Truckee is an incorporated town in Nevada County, California, United States. Start off your visit on the 13th (Tue): visit Historic Downtown Truckee and then immerse yourself in nature at Donner Memorial State Park and Emigrant Trail Museum. New York City to Truckee is an approximately 10-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of bus and train. Due to the time zone difference, you'll gain 3 hours traveling from New York City to Truckee. When traveling from New York City in October, plan for little chillier days and cooler nights in Truckee: temperatures range from 63°F by day to 26°F at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 14th (Wed) early enough to go by car to South Lake Tahoe.

Drive from Truckee to South Lake Tahoe in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. Expect a daytime high around 64°F in October, and nighttime lows around 31°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 17th (Sat) early enough to travel back home.
