Horse Capital of the World

Known internationally as the "Horse Capital of the World," Lexington boasts a thriving economy resting largely on its thoroughbred racehorse industry.
On the 19th (Mon), pause for some serene contemplation at St. Paul Catholic Church, glide peacefully along the water with Boone Creek Outdoors, and then relax and rejuvenate at some of the best spas. Keep things going the next day: get interesting insight from Unique Horse Farm Tours, then let the kids burn off some steam at Juniper Hill Park and Golf Course, and then identify plant and animal life at Salato Wildlife Education Center.

A tiny town with big tourist appeal, Pigeon Forge bills itself as the "Center of Fun in the Smokies." Just a short drive from the national park protecting the diverse plant and animal life of the Great Smoky Mountains, the town features numerous places to visit, such as bars, restaurants, cafes, theaters, and shops.
On the 21st (Wed), look for all kinds of wild species at Roaring Fork. Here are some ideas for day two: take a leisurely stroll along The Island in Pigeon Forge, then see the interesting displays at Titanic Museum Attraction, and then get interesting insight from Tours.
