Avalon is the only incorporated city on Santa Catalina Island of the California Channel Islands, and the southernmost city in Los Angeles County. Step off the beaten path and head to Catalina Island Casino & Avalon Theater and Hermit Gulch Trail Loop. Take a break from the city and head to Dolphin & Whale Watching and Nature Center at Avalon Canyon. There's still lots to do: head off the coast to Catalina Island Conservancy, look for gifts at Afishinados Gallery, get interesting insight from Joe's Rent-a-Boat, and trek along Trans-Catalina Trail.
