Leesburg is a historic town within and the county seat of Loudoun County, Virginia. Get a sense of the local culture at Breaux Vineyards and National Sporting Library & Museum. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Two Twisted Posts Winery and 50 West Vineyards. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Leesburg: Bogati Winery (in Round Hill), Twin Oaks Tavern Winery (in Bluemont) and Hiddencroft Vineyards (in Lovettsville). There's still lots to do: do a tasting at Goose Creek Farm and Winery - Otium Cellars, get outside with Ida Lee Park, brush up on your knowledge of spirits at Catoctin Creek Distillery, and explore the landscape on two wheels at The Washington & Old Dominion Trail.

To find more things to do, reviews, traveler tips, and other tourist information, go to the Leesburg trip itinerary planner.

Washington DC to Leesburg is an approximately 1-hour car ride. You can also do a combination of bus and taxi; or do a combination of subway, bus, and taxi. Traveling from Washington DC in August, Leesburg is slightly colder at night with lows of 65°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 3rd (Mon) early enough to drive back home.
