Leesburg is a historic town within and the county seat of Loudoun County, Virginia. Step off the beaten path and head to Doukenie Winery and Hiddencroft Vineyards. Give yourself a bit of retail therapy at Maggie Malick Wine Caves and Leesburg Corner Premium Outlets. Venture out of the city with trips to Two Twisted Posts Winery (in Purcellville) and National Sporting Library & Museum (in Middleburg). And it doesn't end there: learn about winemaking at Goose Creek Farm and Winery - Otium Cellars, experience rural life at Patowmack Farm, grab your bike and head to C&O Canal Trust Lockhouse 28, and get outside with Ida Lee Park.

For more things to do, other places to visit, where to stay, and other tourist information, read Leesburg holiday planner .

Washington DC to Leesburg is an approximately 1-hour car ride. You can also do a combination of bus and taxi; or do a combination of subway and taxi. Traveling from Washington DC in October, expect a bit cooler with lows of 48°F in Leesburg. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 22nd (Mon) early enough to drive back home.
