As the largest of Northern Mariana Islands, Saipan represents an important entry port in the archipelago.
Start off your visit on the 5th (Sat): explore the fascinating underground world of The Grotto, then walk around American Memorial Park, then enjoy the sand and surf at Obyan Beach, and finally take in the architecture and atmosphere at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cathedral. Keep things going the next day: discover the deep blue sea with a scuba or snorkeling tour, then step off the mainland to explore Managaha Island, then kick back and relax at Micro Beach, and finally take in the spiritual surroundings of Saipan Katori Shrine.
