Burlington is the most populous city in the U.S. state of Vermont and the seat of Chittenden County. Kick off your visit on the 30th (Thu): let the kids burn off some steam at Battery Park, trek along Burlington Bike Path, and then don't miss a visit to Church Street Marketplace. Here are some ideas for day two: see the interesting displays at Shelburne Museum, hike along Stowe Recreation Path, and then take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Mount Mansfield State Forest.

North Conway combines colonial New England architecture with outlet shops selling goods from some of the world's most recognizable brands, all set amid the scenery of the White Mountains.
Kids will enjoy Kancamagus Highway and Santa's Village. Change things up with these side-trips from North Conway: Mt. Washington Auto Road (in Gorham), Mechanic Street Covered Bridge (in Lancaster) and Flume Gorge (in Franconia).
