Florence — 1 night

Florence is a coastal city in Lane County, in the U.S. state of Oregon. Start off your visit on the 1st (Thu): head outdoors with Sandland Adventures and then visit a coastal fixture at Heceta Head Lighthouse. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 2nd (Fri): Head underground at Sea Lion Caves, then explore and take pictures at Cape Perpetua Visitor Center - Siuslaw National Forest, then take in the waterfront at Yachats coastline, and finally pause for some photo ops at Bazalgette the Whale at Whale Park.

Reno to Florence is an approximately 6.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of bus and train. When traveling from Reno in July, plan for cooler days in Florence, with highs around 67°F, while nights are little chillier with lows around 54°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 2nd (Fri) early enough to go by car to Newport.

Newport — 1 night

A town that survives on the sea, Newport's population of just over 10,000 supports a healthy commercial fishing industry.
