San Antonio

The Alamo City

As the state’s second largest city, San Antonio embodies Texas’ rich cultural heritage while maintaining the Old West charm of an oil town.
Museum-lovers will get to explore Briscoe Western Art Museum and San Antonio Fire Museum. Visit St Joseph Catholic Church and King William Historic District for their historical value. Venture out of the city with trips to Luckenbach Texas General Store (in Luckenbach), Grape Creek Vineyards on Main (in Fredericksburg) and Sister Creek Vineyards (in Sisterdale). Next up on the itinerary: glide peacefully along the water with some of the best stand-up paddleboarding in the area, browse the exhibits of The Alamo, take an in-depth tour of Battle For Texas: The Experience, and admire the architecture and history at Mission San Jose.

In May, daily temperatures in San Antonio can reach 87°F, while at night they dip to 66°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 3rd (Wed) so you can travel back home.
