Kick off your visit on the 3rd (Sat): make a trip to Santa Fe Plaza, explore the world behind art at Georgia O'Keeffe Museum, then take in the exciting artwork at Mama's Minerals, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Loretto Chapel, and finally get to know the fascinating history of Canyon Road.

Phoenix to Santa Fe is an approximately 3.5-hour flight. You can also fly; or drive; or take a bus. Traveling from Phoenix in October, things will get cooler in Santa Fe: highs are around 69°F and lows about 41°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 3rd (Sat) so you can go by car to Albuquerque.

Duke City

Albuquerque remains one of the state's secret jewels, as its tourist attractions are often overshadowed by the more popular holiday destination of Santa Fe.
Change things up with a short trip to Bandelier National Monument in Los Alamos (about 1h 20 min away). There's still lots to do: get interesting insight from Tours, appreciate the extensive heritage of Albuquerque Old Town, stroll through Petroglyph National Monument, and deepen your understanding of the past and present with New Mexico Jeep Tours.

Traveling by car from Santa Fe to Albuquerque takes an hour. Alternatively, you can take a train; or take a bus. Expect somewhat warmer evenings in Albuquerque when traveling from Santa Fe in October, with lows around 48°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 7th (Wed) to allow enough time to travel back home.
