Nicknamed the "Emerald City" because of its abundant evergreen trees, Seattle is the cultural and business center of the Pacific Northwest, as well as a popular holiday destination.
Museum-lovers will appreciate Chihuly Garden and Glass and Fort Nisqually Living History Museum. Pioneer Square and St. Paul's Church will appeal to history buffs. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Seattle: Snoqualmie Falls (in Snoqualmie), Duthie Hill Park (in Issaquah) and Bloedel Reserve (in Bainbridge Island). Next up on the itinerary: take in the dramatic natural features at Olympic Peninsula, wander the streets of Pike Place Market, identify plant and animal life at Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge, and enjoy the sea views from West Point Lighthouse.

To find reviews, maps, other places to visit, and tourist information, you can read our Seattle day trip planning site .

May in Seattle sees daily highs of 68°F and lows of 52°F at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 31st (Fri) to allow enough time to travel back home.
