Taos — 4 nights

Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Rio Grande del Norte National Monument and Rio Grande Gorge. Explore Taos' surroundings by going to Santo Nino Chapel (in Chimayo) and Land of Enchantment Guides - Fly Fishing Trips (in Santa Fe). There's still lots to do: look for all kinds of wild species at Wild Rivers Recreation Area, indulge in some personalized pampering at some of the best spas, don't miss a visit to Ranchos de Taos Plaza, and do a tasting at Black Mesa Winery.
