Despite its laid-back college vibe, Austin is an influential center for politics, technology, film, and music.
On the 31st (Thu), admire the landmark architecture of The Driskill, get a sense of history and politics at Texas State Capitol, and then take in the exciting artwork at Harry Ransom Center. Keep things going the next day: get engrossed in the history at Bullock Texas State History Museum, then stroll around Zilker Metropolitan Park, then explore the world behind art at Elisabet Ney Museum, and finally get great views at Mount Bonnell.

As the state’s second largest city, San Antonio embodies Texas’ rich cultural heritage while maintaining the Old West charm of an oil town.
Start off your visit on the 2nd (Sat): take in the architecture and atmosphere at San Fernando De Bexar Cathedral, admire the architecture and history at Mission Concepcion, take a stroll around Tower of the Americas, then steep yourself in history at The Alamo, and finally take in the pleasant sights at The San Antonio River Walk. Keep things going the next day: admire the architecture and history at Mission Espada, admire the architecture and history at Mission San Jose, then contemplate the long history of The Guenther House Museum, then admire the masterpieces at McNay Art Museum, and finally don't miss a visit to Main Plaza.
