Washington DC

— 4 nights
The capital of the United States, the District of Columbia contains the lion's share of the country's most treasured monuments, memorials, and public museums.
National Air and Space Museum and Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History are good opportunities to explore the local culture. You'll explore and learn at National Gallery of Art and Ford's Theatre. Take a break from Washington DC with a short trip to Great Falls Park in McLean, about 34 minutes away. The adventure continues: take an in-depth tour of United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, get to know the resident critters at National Zoological Park, pause for some photo ops at Vietnam Veterans Memorial, and appreciate the extensive heritage of The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

In July, plan for daily highs up to 89°F, and evening lows to 73°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 1st (Sun) so you can travel back home.
