Founded in 1632 as a fortified settlement on the high ground between two rivers, Williamsburg served as a colonial capital of Virginia for over 80 years.

Jersey City to Williamsburg is an approximately 5.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a train. Expect a daytime high around 89°F in August, and nighttime lows around 70°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 23rd (Sun) so you can drive to Shenandoah National Park.

Plan for a bit cooler temperatures traveling from Williamsburg in August, with highs in Shenandoah National Park at 84°F and lows at 65°F. On the 26th (Wed), you'll have the morning to explore before heading back home.
