Williamsburg

— 4 nights

Colonial Capital

Founded in 1632 as a fortified settlement on the high ground between two rivers, Williamsburg served as a colonial capital of Virginia for over 80 years.
Relax by the water at Cape Charles Beach and Yorktown Beach. Get a sense of the local culture at Jamestown Settlement and American Revolution Museum at Yorktown. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Williamsburg: Kings Dominion (in Doswell) and Carytown (in Richmond). The adventure continues: make a splash at Water Country USA, take in the history at Yorktown Battlefield, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Bruton Parish Episcopal Church, and take an in-depth tour of Historic Jamestowne.

For maps, ratings, traveler tips, and more tourist information, use the Williamsburg trip itinerary maker tool.

July in Williamsburg sees daily highs of 91°F and lows of 73°F at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 4th (Sun) so you can travel back home.
