Atlanta

— 56 nights

The Capital of the South

Georgia’s largest city and capital, Atlanta is a thriving metropolis anchored by its southern roots.
Change things up with these side-trips from Atlanta: Marietta (Marietta Confederate Cemetery, Marietta National Cemetery, &more), Stone Mountain (Stone Mountain Park, Yellow River Park, &more) and Dacula (Rabbit Hill Park, Little Mulberry Park, &more). Spend the 9th (Sun) exploring nature at Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park. Dedicate the 7th (Fri) to wine at some of the top wineries in the area. There's much more to do: take in nature's colorful creations at Atlanta Botanical Garden, admire nature's wide array of creatures at Zoo Atlanta, admire the striking features of Fox Theatre, and stroll through Atlanta History Center.

For where to stay, more things to do, photos, and more tourist information, refer to the Atlanta travel route planner.

Expect a daytime high around 74°F in April, and nighttime lows around 54°F. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 27th (Thu) to allow enough time to travel back home.
