Hana is one of the most isolated communities in Hawaii, with a permanent population of just over 1,000 people.
Get out of town with these interesting Hana side-trips: Haleakala National Park (Haleakala Crater & Sliding Sands Trail), Kipahulu (Charles Lindbergh's Grave, Palapala Ho'omau Church, &more) and Kaumahina State Wayside Park (in Haiku). Spend the 2nd (Tue) exploring the striking scenery along Hana Highway - Road to Hana. Next up on the itinerary: enjoy the sand and surf at Wai'anapanapa State Park, ride a horse along Pipiwai Trail, don't miss a visit to Kalaloa Point, and tour the pleasant surroundings at Red Sand Beach - Kaihalulu Beach.

Great Falls to Hana is an approximately 14-hour combination of car and flight. The time zone changes from Mountain Standard Time to Hawaii-Aleutian Standard Time, which is usually a -3 hour difference. Traveling from Great Falls in October, things will get much hotter in Hana: highs are around 88°F and lows about 70°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 2nd (Tue) to allow enough time to fly to Lahaina.

Once the booming capital of the Hawaiian Kingdom, the tropical paradise of Lahaina still remains one of Maui's top vacation attractions, providing both culture and recreation.
Venture out of the city with trips to Kihei (Kamaole Beach Park II, Kamaole Beach Park III, &more), Wailuku (Ocean Science Discovery Center, Maui Tropical Plantation, &more) and Wailea (Wailea Old Blue Course, Wailea Beach, &more).
