Queens is the easternmost and largest in area of the five boroughs of New York City. For shopping fun, head to Fifth Avenue or West Village. Popular historic sites such as 9/11 Memorial and Ellis Island are in your itinerary. Explore Queens' surroundings by going to Goldsmith's Inlet (in Southold), Teaneck Creek Conservancy (in Teaneck) and West Orange (Eagle Rock Reservation & Paddle Boating and Picnic Pavilion). There's still lots to do: take a stroll through Times Square, meet the residents at Bronx Zoo, grab your bike and head to Hudson River Greenway, and identify plant and animal life at Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge.

To find more things to do, ratings, where to stay, and tourist information, use the Queens visit planner.

If you are flying in from Denmark, the closest major airports are La Guardia Airport, John F Kennedy International Airport and Newark Liberty International Airport. In April, plan for daily highs up to 17°C, and evening lows to 7°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 23rd (Sun) so you can travel back home.
