Lake George — 1 night

Queen of the American Lakes

A playground for America’s wealthy families, Lake George was nicknamed "Queen of the American Lakes." While these families often stayed in private country houses, a tourism industry built up around them in the early 20th century facilitated by two YMCAs.
On the 17th (Thu), witness the site of a historic battle at Saratoga National Historical Park, take an in-depth tour of Saratoga Springs History Museum, then grab your bike and head to Warren County Bikeway, and finally tee off at Gooney Golf. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 18th (Fri): stroll through Buck mountain hiking trail, cast your line with a fishing tour, then look for all kinds of wild species at Veterans Memorial Park, then look for gifts at Wax 'n' Wix, and finally do a tasting at Adirondack Winery.

To find photos and other tourist information, you can read our Lake George trip planner.
